The latest version of the OC4C- SCOPE data UExP-FNN-U v2025-1 full surface ocean carbonate data has been used in the Potsdam Institute for Planetary Health Check Report, for assessing the ocean acidification boundary.

Above is an excerpt from the report ‘FIGURE 39 – Ocean Acidification has transgressed its Planetary Boundary. This figure shows how the global surface aragonite saturation state has changed over time (based on UExP-FNN-U data)’. You can read more about it in the report shown here, section 4.6: Ocean Acidification: https://www.planetaryhealthcheck.org/wp-content/uploads/PlanetaryHealthCheck2025.pdf
The full data set is available on Zenodo: https://zenodo.org/records/15801067, and a description of the data set is coming soon from Ford et al.
This Planetary Health Check describes itself as ‘a yearly report on the state of our planet. It presents the most up-to-date assessments of the Planetary Boundaries, gives thorough introductions into cutting-edge science, and spotlights especially relevant aspects of our planet’s health. In this 2025 edition, we place a special focus on the Ocean’s role in the Earth system, and assess for the first time that Ocean Acidification is the seventh transgressed Planetary Boundary’. https://www.planetaryhealthcheck.org/
